The Intensive English Program was established in 1983 for undergraduate and graduate international students who need further training in academic English. Most of the students who complete our program continue at the Catholic University of America and pursue an academic degree.

In recognition of the challenges facing students working for a degree in a language other than their native tongue, our program places special emphasis on English for academic purposes.
